The Pork Place @ IOI Boulevard. Lunch time and it is a real great place to enjoy a delicious porks. A quiet place on lunch time and the environment is just nice. Great wall displays with all the piggy pictures and details of different type of pigs.

Awesome menu and great variety of selections to choose from, mostly pork. If you don’t like pork, sorry to say this is not the place to go. The sandwiches and burgers are famous from what I heard. No sense of regrets at all for having the Roast Pork Sandwich wrap! Will definitely return for more porky meals.

A type of ale (beer that tastes sweet). After read thoroughly for more than 10 minutes to decide which beer to go for. Friends have been waiting impatiently and finally upon suggestions, I should take the one with highest alcohol % and something different than common beers. Finally decided to try on the beer that is brewed using the methods developed by the Monks of Maredsous Abbey long time ago.

I make a right choice this time. The 1st sip is AWESOME, beyond my expectation. It tastes like honey with caramel, strawberry with fruity flavour and the malt with the taste of the beer. Unlike other beers with higher alcohol %, Maredsous Triple 10 is above 10% atleast! It’s so smooth and surpisingly so easy to drink. It doesn’t taste like a beer that is 10% alcohol at all. More like just a regular beer of 4% and below. The monks must have found a secret to develop an ale with such balance.

I regret to drink it to half glass empty in the first few minutes. The beer kicks in instantly after that and it’s a strong type of kick I would say. Catch me off guard!

Your imagination will start to think of a noisy place that fills with fish, meat, vegetable, food, cookies, dessert and all that’s fresh. Well the reality in the Market Hall @ The Apartment Pavilion is pretty much the same. It revolves around the concepts that you had just imagined with the taste of the Italian warm and hearty meals.

The moment when you walk in, sit down and look around. It’s convenient and simple to think of what to eat or what do you feel like eating. If you still unsure what to get after go through few times on the menu. Just look around the open concept kitchen and see what they are cooking at that moment. If that still doesn’t help, just ask for ‘Special of the Day’. The peoples are very friendly, helpful and informative. Just like what you would expect when you go to the market.

It lives up the concept of special “of the Day”. This applies to the appetizer, soup, pasta, main course and dessert. The menu is simple and come with different variety of choices.

A bit disappointed with the movie. It’s not even close to the content of the book. It never explains about the Lorics influnce on the history of mankind, the beauty and destruction of Planet Lorien not properly described, the motives of the Mogadorians not clearly defined and how the Lorics escaped to Earth is no where to be seen.

Chinese Food Week, decided to go for something quick and simple. Din Tai Fung probably serves the best ‘Xiau Long Bau’ in Pavilion, no doubt about it. No matter how busy of the restaurant, they always serve a great meal in time.

The King’s Speech is a nice movie based on the story of “King George VI of the United Kingdom”. No sub-titles available and the English spoken are heavy in British accent. My guess some will find it hard to comprehend.

Sunday’s lunch at Kim Gary @ Mid Valley. It’s been a while since the last visit. As usual long queue on lunch time. I bought a new book “The Lost Symbol”. It would be nice to bring it along to Krabi holiday on next week. I got myself a brand new earphones too.

On the hot cloudy afternoon. It’s a good time to visit Pavilion for a lunch-gathering and have a pint of beer.

I bought a book today, it’s the few remaining books featured on the display. “I AM NUMBER FOUR”, there’re 9 books on the shelf. Not really convinced to buy the left over books. However, I need to show some supports for this book because I got a secret to tell ‘I Am Number Five’. LOL!

Finally I went back for the 3rd time to the bookstore and grab the most good looking book. Instantly….this is something new…..

What a good read until I didn’t realize the ice-cream is melting down from the glass at ‘MOF の Japanese Sweets & Coffee’ @ Pavilion.

Apple Juice of the Day, Strongbow @ Malones Pavilion. Visiting a bar will no longer be the same.
Ahhh~ it goes so well with the book.

Valentine’s 2011 @ Ristorante Porto Romano – Mont Kiara, Pavilion & The Gardens

2011 Valentine’s Dinner @ Ristorante Porto Romano at Mont Kiara. Two years ago, got to know this Italian-Mediterranean restaurant from the lovely Leanne Sai. She highly recommended the soup, lamb shank and pizza. Love the ambience, interior decoration and light settings of the restaurant. This particular branch of Porto Romano frequently visited by the foreigners, especially the Japanese aunties and small family, sort of like a housewives gathering place. On each visit, I noticed there would be a few groups of elegantly dressed ladies were there for gathering too.

Right after the dinner, we went to Pavilion for a movie “What Women Want” starring Andy Lau and Gong Li. It was a great movie. On the next day we visited The Gardens @ Mid Valley to get our Valentine’s gift of the year. I got myself a nice backpack travel bag. Emily has decided to get a “special valentine’s plastic bag” from Guess.

Verdure alla Griglia – Grilled Vegetables
Capsicums, aubergines and zucchini with balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil. Grilled to perfection without compromising the texture of the vegetables. Great choice when you are bored with the usual salads. This is a Porto Romano specialty.

Ravioli with Smoked Salmon Filling
Ravioli also known as “Italian jiaozi” (意大利饺子) is a traditional dish of the Italian-Mediterranean origin. Porto Romano original home-made pasta with Salmon filling inside. For those who loves the Chinese ban-mee and wantan/gaozi. This is highly recommended. I guess the Children would love it so much!

Stinco d’Agnello – Braised Lamb Shank
Porto Romano is well known for their Signature Dish of the Lamb Shank. It’s so stringent that this dish take hours of preparation and cooking involved. Good taste does not need translation. It’s beyond what the words can express.

Tiramisu – Tiramisu
There’s a saying “No diners should leave the restaurant without getting a taste of the Tiramisu”
Made up of best coffee and almond liquer. The 2 x Tiramisu does not stand for nothing. This is the signature dessert of Porto Romano.
